2 PhD scholarships are available in the fifth edition (part 2).

Each PhD scholarship is granted for periods of 1 year, renewable up to 4 years, and can not be granted for periods smaller than 6 consecutive months.

The workprogram of PhD dissertations in the IST-LNEC track does not include important work periods outside Portugal.

The call is open to citizens of all countries. Eligible applicants should hold a MSc degree, or recognized equivalent. In exceptional cases, the Selection Committee may accept candidates holding a Bachelor degree or equivalent, provided their academic curriculum vitae are exceptional.

Preference will be given to holders of a MSc degree, or recognized equivalent, in Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Physics, Mathematics, Territorial Planning and Urbanism, Oceanography, or related areas, and have a special interest in Hydrology and Hydraulics.

Scholarships attributed through this call are funded by the Portuguese State Budget corresponding to the Ministry of Education and Science and, when applicable, by funds of the European Social Fund through operational Program Human Potential of QREN Portugal 2007-2013, in accordance with the Regulamento Específico da Tipologia de Intervenção 4.1.
